All the statistical highlights from Adelaide Strikers’ biggest win in the Big Bash League.

Adelaide Strikers avenged for a big defeat in the hands of Brisbane Heat inside three days as they thumped the Chris Lynn-led team by 10 wickets on Friday. Heat, who batted first this time, were rolled for just 100 in 17 overs as they lost their last eight wickets for 47 runs. Matt Renshaw (43 off 31) and Chris Lynn (26 off 24) were the only players who got into double digits for Brisbane. The Strikers’ opening pair of Phil Salt (67* off 38) and Jake Weatherald (33* off 27) completed the chase in 10.5 overs without losing a wicket.

All the statistical highlights from Adelaide Strikers’ biggest win in the Big Bash League:

A record win for the Strikers:

4 – Only the 4th time a team has won by a 10-wicket margin in the history of Big Bash League. Perth Scorchers against Melbourne Renegades in 2015-16, Hobart Hurricanes and Brisbane Heat against Adelaide Strikers and Melbourne Stars respectively during the 2018-19 season are the other three instances of 10-wicket victories in the BBL.

55 – Only four times a team has won a BBL match with more than 55 balls to spare. This is also the biggest BBL win for the Adelaide Strikers in terms of balls to spare. Their previous biggest was by 45 balls while chasing a 149-run target against Melbourne Stars in 2013-14 season.

A low total against Strikers:

100 – Brisbane Heat’s total of 100/10 is now the 2nd lowest total for any side in the BBL against Adelaide Strikers. The lowest is also recorded by Brisbane when they were bowled out for 91 in the 2017-18 season match also at the Adelaide Oval.

A rare defeat at the Adelaide Oval for Brisbane:

2/6 – Only the second time that the Brisbane Heat lost a BBL match at the Adelaide Oval out of the six games they played there. Other defeat for the Brisbane team at this venue came during the 2017-18 season.

A middle-order collapse:

22 – Brisbane Heat’s bottom seven (No.5 to No.11) aggregated 22 runs in this match; the 5th fewest in a BBL inning. The fewest is 18 runs by Perth Scorchers in 2011-12 season against Melbourne Stars.

This was also the first instance where none of Brisbane’s bottom seven batters got to double digits in a BBL game. Ben Cutting’s 9 runs were the highest in Heat’s innings among No.5 to No.11 batters in this match.

A tough day with the ball for Mujeeb:

47 – Mujeeb ur Rahman conceded 47 runs in his 3.5 overs during this match; the 2nd most runs conceded by a Brisbane Heat spinner in a BBL match. Mitchell Swepson gave away 49 runs in only three overs he bowled in the 2016-17 season match against Sydney Thunder.
