Former Indian skipper Rahul Dravid, known as 'The Wall', opened up on MS Dhoni's finishing skills and hailed his ability to detach himself at the fag end of run-chases.

MS Dhoni has been a revelation for Team India ever since he stepped onto the 22-yard cricket strip in international cricket. At first, his power-hitting came into the notice of many, including his teammates, opponents as well as experts of the game.

Slowly and steadily, Dhoni transformed himself as an all-format player. As the years went by, Dhoni's captaincy came as a breath of fresh air as the 38-year-old understood the needs of the gentlemen's game in the modern era. In addition, he matured as one of the most reliable finishers down the order.

Similarly, Dhoni's wicketkeeping skills became the talk of the town with his lightning-fast stumpings against spinners and the occasional dives while keeping to the pacers, despite his back issues popping up from time to time. In his glorious career, the former Indian skipper has always been a hot topic of discussion among cricket experts and fanatics.

Thus, former cricketer-turned-commentator Sanjay Manjrekar asked Rahul Dravid some interesting questions related to Dhoni, where 'The Wall' tried his best to decode Dhoni's finishing skills.

In an interaction with Manjrekar for ESPNCricinfo, Dravid said, "You always got the feeling that he is doing something really important. But he is playing like results do not really matter to him. Not an easy situation to get in. You need to have that or you need to train it. I potentially didn't have that. The consequences mattered to me deeply. It will be really interesting to ask whether something like this comes naturally to him or something that he has potentially worked on. That's what great finishers do. They are able to get themselves in that frame of mind."

While Dravid has been busy as the India A and U-19 coach, before taking over as the head of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, the former skipper doesn't shy away from expressing his views on several aspects of the game.

Meanwhile, Dhoni is enjoying his family-time at his Ranchi farmhouse. The mystery regarding his international future might only be clear after IPL 2020 takes place and fans get to witness the form and fitness of the wicketkeeper-batsman.
